They fight the evil of Malamar, while teaching important life lessons to kid in a half-hour timeslot.
Interesting design and concept, Superpower + Contrary is fun, as is giving stat boosters a Topsy-Turvy.
However its stats aren't ideal, and the weakness to Fairy can be offputting.

Malamar is currently like my favorite pokemon.
I always nickname mine Beyond, give his ass Superpower, Knock off, Rock Slide and topsy turvy.
Safegaurd the team and Whimsicott it up with taunts, charms and slowing the enemy with cotton spore.

Meditite/cham didn't seem to fit too well with the nerdy archetype, unless we're doing the "son of athletes who can't live up to his parents' expectations, and they must learn to accept him" story.

Beheeyem would work better as the actual alien for the space episode. Or as a new villain as the opposing leader of an intergalactic empire.
Roserade would have to be the superhero analogue. Serperior could maybe work, though in most cartoons, the poodle is always used as the stereotypical french animal. I guess it depends how "on the nose" you want the show to be.

Also I'm really liking the looks of Gen VIII right now. It's looking very promising. Solgaleo and Lunala are unique and great, the starters are 10/10 design and concept-wise, and Magearna is adorable and cool at the same time.
