So on the official map we cant see that one Pokemon center. Does it mean there's an extra town behind the mountain?
Is it possible there are extra locations behind the active volcano (north-east island) and between the ice mountain and the observatory (south-east island?
Of course.
I don't know why people act so conclusive about the map when the game is confirmed to be fully 3D. They're going to make use of the areas behind those mountains.
And on the island with the ice on top of the mountain, there's a hidden route between it and the research facility looking thing.

There was a pokemon center outside a mountain in Kanto. This is nothing new.
This is going to be the least comfy region of all time. Many disjointed small islands can't compete with one big, even if they add up to the same size.
