Although Blastoise will always be my Gen 1 bro, and despite not actually using Magneton all that much in my first ever run (I didn't know where to catch it for a good year or so), I really loved this thing whenever I saw it on promotional artwork, or the anime.
It's a lazy as fuck design, but something about a cyclopean robot baseball touched tiny me's imagination, and he was usually (I change my mind a lot) the answer to any "who's your favorite pokemon, Anon".
Honorable mention: Staryu/Starmie, but it wasn't until later gens that I realized how good it really was.

Gen 2 was a big cocktease for lil' Anon. So many of her favorite pokemon (Misdreavus, Tyranitar...) were only available until after 99% of the game was already fucking finished.
Sneasel, even with his debut sprite's shit color, probably had the most impact on me because of that reason. Espeon was my bro in the game, but Sneasel was the unattainable, a prized trophy that I wasn't allowed to have until I had proven myself to be the very best.
I wanted to punch Silver in the goddamn throat every time he took out his, because I WANT ONE TOO, MOOOOOM.

Another one of those "didn't use it, but I really loved it" pokemon, I seriously liked this thing when I first saw it. Snorunt was just cute, plain and simple, but I was afraid of catching it.
See, I was an idiot back then, and had no idea Snorunt evolved into this badass Jason-Vorhees-looking motherfucker yet, so I didn't bother with it during my playthrough .

Of course, now that I'm an adult baby with full understanding of the inner workings of the game, I am fully aware that Glalie is... kinda shit. And with the addition of a Mega form he's KINDA better, it's just... it's a REALLY boring transformation. All it's good for is Ice-type Return, which is fine, I guess... Firehead Monkey just fulfilled all my badass shonen fight scene fantasies when it came to pokemon battles. He's a decent pokemon as well, so no real complaints on him this gen.
Now I can only hope for Super Saiyan Mega Infernape in the future. You have it right there on a silver platter Gamefreak, so don't blow it!

A Pikaclone that's actually USEFUL? Color me surprised, Gamefreak; good job.
Nothing much to say here, Emolga was just a cute design, an interesting typing, and had a fairly good moveset to go with it. It was nice.
Honorable mention: Golurk, because giant flying ancient mecha. Just, yes.

While I thuogh Gen 6 was okay, and didn't have much problem with its pokedex, it's a bit hard for me to pick out a genuine favorite off its list.
It's not that I hate the designs, or hate the pokemon themselves (most of them, anyway), it's just that none of them really "sung" to me the way previous gens had.
Aurorus is cool. So was Tyrantrum. And I did like Aegislash, so there were good pokemon there. But I suppose if I had to choose, I'd go with Dragalge. I've always liked the Poison type, so it was cool to see a Dragon being added into the mix, even with the advent of Fairies.
Nothing else to really say, I guess. There isn't much point in doing Gen 7, since we only know five pokemon so far, so that's it for my rant.
