Grass starters only get a second type if they are GOAT. Everything else is monotype because it's by the book just to fill a quota. Even if their evolution get a second type it's just an afterthought. Monotype trash is just so kids understand the very basics of type interactions. Dual type is reserved for kids that can understand how dual type interactions work.
I'm obviously biased but I wish more starters were dual type. Heck, give old starters like Squirtle or Cyndaquil a second type.

Mega Serperior would've made more sense as part Dragon than Sceptile, honestly, despite the egg groups saying otherwise (Gen 5 had a lot of retarded egg groups anyway, like Archen being an aquatic invertebrate).
But now that they've already done Grass/Dragob mega starter I'd rather they not repeat that. Mega Johto starters, Sinnoh starters, Kalos starters, and Serperior should keep their typings, Mega Emboar should be Fire/Dark, and Mega Samurott should be Water/Fightinf.
