In Gen 1, it was Aerodactyl, but quickly became Gyarados when he saved my ass a million times.
Gen 2 was Gyarados. Red Gyarados was a hero.
Gen 3 was Gardevoir, like many others. Strong and reliable.
Gen 4 was Shellos. I got a blue one, and it never failed me.
Gen 5 was Lilligant. Everything good about Gardevoir, except it's grass type and 100% cuter.
Gen 6 is Trevenant. Spooktree is best fake tree.
Overall, Lilligant is the one I'd want as my partner if they were real.

If I had to pick my team's ace then it would definitely be my second favorite - Flygon, it just feels like the kind of Pokemon the "good guys" would actually use.
