I am really worried about status of this board. I feel like after the cloppers we /vp/ogres can be next ones. And this is a genuine convern.
I observed this board since 2009 and actively posted after like 3 months of its opening (ban due to newteam), I have accumulated pretty big Gary folder I've used to fight the porn back when it wasn't figuring as a blue board.
Now is there a way I can help somehow? This board is more than dead, the furries and pedophiles (and ponies or all three in one) ruin it even more every second, something neither janitors nor mods really reacts too (as I got 1 week ban during that). Posting Garys will only encourage them to post more. You have to strike with what they hate so people will hide threads in disgust.
I abstained from posting after Gen 5, generally left it for year after BW, then posted a bit during BW2 hype but it was not the same, clearly. Level down, dumber people. No serious discussions only idiotic bantering (and countryballing).
I remember it well how much epic OC it had, the Greenderps I still have so many yversions of, eh. Now people are just lazy and want to kill that thing (or corsple of rather).

As much as I'd love I was never really in an Anglo country. I haven't moved my sorry ass outside of Eastern Europe, I tried to learn English playing MMORPGs, then chans (KC mostly, then trying to discuss with /int/olerants and /tr/ainers). But I planned on taking British English classes in the holiday summer.

It isn't just /vp/ itself that's changed, it's the internet as a whole that's changed as a result of the rise of cheap smartphones worldwide. People who otherwise wouldn't have access to the internet now have access to it and quality discussions everywhere, especially where people can get away with saying whatever, have thinned out considerably as a result.
Like you were getting at, posting in negative threads won't help things at all, but few realize that. I fall into that trap sometimes. We just have to ignore them, or people will know that posting their worthless, off topic shit will get reactions, so they'll continue to do it.
To make the board better, we have to BE better. We'll never get rid of all the retards who shouldn't be here, who don't want to have a discussion, who just want to ruin the board with unrelated nonsense, but we do have the choice not to engage them. Feed constructive conversation instead of destructive conversation.

Whilst I'd love to elaborate more the "generic internet" generally swifted towards sites like unfamous "FB" (I was banned from twice lately, for dissident opinions).
People who still stayed on the normal websites are getting more and more angered, especially the "deepweb".
Dumbphones are to blame. Back then only those like Japanese and Korean had acess to such stuff, and generally to "LTE Internet" we got recently, they had on those old nokias. Sites like 2chan got designed for those, those internets in general which is why they're not overbloaded with annyoing scripts everywhere (thank you Serebii, but you're soo 2012), it's annoying to read that without AdBlock/Latitude-Plus and No-JS/Script (using PaleMoon and Midori for that sole reason).
