Neanderthalish Yeti looking mammal pokemon. Normal/Rock

Or a Sabertooth Tiger Pokemon. Ice/Rock. They hopefully buff ice so Ground and Water do minor damage to it so he isn't completely swamped. He has large attack power and coverage of all Fang/Bite related moves.

Another idea. Rock/Psychic Meteor pokemon as some subtle descendant to Solrock and Lunatone. Maybe it could be a single stage pokemon like Aerodactyl to create a trio.

Or a tiki caveman. Pic Related. Rock/Fighting.
>>
>>26630092
Fuck yes.

Honestly as long as we get some fossil or rock pokemon I'm going to be pleased. I'll be crushed if I can't do a rock monotype playthrough.

Ooh aspiring paleontologist here, I'm very excited, haven't even thought about fossil Pokemon
Listing some ones I want
>Dunkleosteus
>Dimetrodon holy shit please I love dimetrodons
>Ichthyosaurus
>Liopleurodon holy shit that'd be awesome
>Stegosaurus are the best no question we need one
>Anklyosaurus holy shit
>Mosasaurus hooooly shit
>Spinosaurus
>Velociraptor ooooh my god yes
>Edmontosaurus
>Megalodon not even a question we need a Megalodon-based fossil Pokemon
I'm tired so I'm gonna stop now...
>>
>>26629930
>muh Jurassic Park nostalgia
>>
A Megalodon would be kinda boring, since scale doesn't really show in the games. So it will just look like a normal sized shark pokémon.
>>
>>26630283
neh but its relative Beipiaosaurus did... that said not a fan of the giant bush tail that's become a meme with Therizinosaurus as of late
>>
>>26630995
I think they just do that because the claws somewhat make it resemble a giant anteater.
>>
Ptera, Tricera, Tyranno!
Putotyranosaurus!
>>
what are some notable fossils that have shown up around Hawaii? Maybe just for this region they will go that far with the theming. Otherwise I just want a Dimetrodon that can learn solar beam.
>>
>>26631124
Since the islands are volcanic and only formed about 5 million years ago, there's very few fossils on Hawaii. The little that's there is mostly relatively recent corals and molluscs.
>>
>>26631124
not much Hawaii only formed about 5 million years ago only relatively recent fossils are known.. I remember there where a family of large flightless ducks that lived there and a large owl named Gallistrix
>>
>>26629575

Yes please. I've wanted a legit shark Pokemon since gen 1. Sharpedo is beyond garbage of the absolute highest caliber and garchomp is cool but hes more of a kaiju than an actual shark.
>>
>>26631179
Oh boy, I can hear the grass starter pattern kids get erect all the way from here.
>>
>>26630778
High five for liking palentology! I'm more of an paleo-anthropologist myself.

And I second all your ideas. Especially the megalodon. Also an Entelodont pokemon please.
>>
>>26629575
hard mode no rock/water types
>>
>>26631178
>>26631179

This. I wouldn't mind a coral or another mollusc pokemon to be honest. I collect ammonites irl and I feel like omanyte/omastar didn't live up to my expectations.
>>
>>26629726
>Red things not eyes
>Red things not eyes
what the fuck
>>
>>26631271
I wouldn't mind it, but I'd honestly rather have something cooler than another ammonite. And isn't 5 million years ago too late for those, anyway?
>>
Water/Rock Mosasaurus
Water/Dragon Megalodon
>>
So without the fact that it would be giant (which would barely be noticeable in the games), what makes a megalodon pokémon cooler than a "normal" new shark mon? Not trying to be sparky, I'm genuinely curious.

>Titanoboa Pokemon
>Rock/ poison

>>26631994
Again, what makes a giant snake cooler than the other giant snakes we already have, especially when they'll look about the same size ingame?
>>
Sarchosuchus
>>
ITT: "You know what would be cool? Stuff we already have, but when you check their height and weight in the pokédex, the numbers are higher."

ITP: "You all suck at this but I'm not going to post better."

To be honest, this idea was from a fanartist friend. Glad you like it, though.
>>
>>26632319

What exactly were you expecting? Ekans, Arbok, Dunsparce, Seviper, and the Serperior line are all snakes, but they all look radically different from one another. We have like five different frog/toad Pokemon but they're not the same either. Whether a Rock/Poison snake fossil would be cool or not would be entirely dependent on what Game Freak did with the concept.
>>
>>26632346
What I meant was, why not just make a cool boa constrictor pokémon then?
>>
>>26632363

Why not make a cool fossil boa constrictor Pokemon?
>>
>>26632520
because that's boring and most fossils represent extinct species
>>
>>26632586

>because that's boring

That's your opinion.

>most fossils represent extinct species

Titanoboas are extinct.
>>
>>26632624
Titanoboa must be a legendary mon
>>
>>26629671
why would a tiki mask be fossilized? It could go through the same process of resurrection as a fossil, but Ghost/Grass makes much more sense
>>
>>26632520
A Titanoboa is literally a boa constrictor, but extinct. Are you retarded?
>>

Has anyone else noticed how the fossils seem to be getting later in prehistory along with the gens
Gen 1 - undersea simple organisms (save Aerodactyl)
Gen 3 - undersea complex organisms
Gen 4 - Simple Dinosaurs (idk what era the dinosaurs were in irl)
Gen 5 - Turtle and Feathered Bird
Gen 6 - T-Rex and Apatosaurus
Gen 7 - ???
Also hoping for Rock/Poison Spitting Lizard and pure Rock Giant Snapping Tortoise

>Trilobite
>Sarcosuchus
>Dilophosaurus Rock/Poison
>Cryolophosaurus
Could only think of one typing.
>>
>>26632520
Because we could have a cool prehistoric animal that doesn't look like a living animal but bigger.
>>
>>26629663
Gen 2 was the only time we didn't get new fossil Pokémon, and that was just because GSC were direct sequels to RGBY.
