Gen 5 had them scrambling with the graphics and Gen 6 just felt pretty barebones.
Platinum had great story, great graphics and a huge amount of content thrown in for extra measure.

Nah Cyrus was either autistic or a sociopath of the highest degree. He didn't want the world in his image. He just wanted it devoid of spirit. He couldn't empathize whatsoever with the idea of emotions and human nature. Apprarently the reason was his parents disowning him or some shit. He got what he wanted when he stayed alone in the Distortion World. It would have been more decent a story if we really got to know him but what we got was pretty bad lame.
All actual features aside, even, Platinum kicked ass. We'll never get a bottom screen more versatile, practical, and useful as the Poketech ever again. I'm so upset that they scrapped all of those cool apps, they were really handy.
Also, the fucking Sinnoh Underground. Evolutionary stones, fossils, heart scales, held items, and shards were never more fun to acquire, but no. That shit's gone. Now we have to farm Rock Smash and Luvdiscs again.

Been playing since Gold and Silver, and I do sorta agree. Platinum in terms of Gyms and Champion are great, and the characters are pretty good. Personally I think each generation has good and bad starters, and I wish there was some sort of game that mixes Platinums difficulty with BW2s amount of team diversity and the Gen V story telling in general.
