Do you guys miss the hype about pokemon from 1997 to 2001? Pokemon is still great but the hype died where pokemon was everywhere

With the existence of genwunners, I doubt it. In the Gen 1 days, pokemon was open for EVERYONE and nobody felt overwhelmed and behind. Today? With 700 creatures to remember and people that choose to wear their nostalgia goggles tightly? Nothing but wishful thinking.tfw we will never live in a perfect world where society loves and recognizes all gens equally
