The app must not have been making as much money as they expected, and decided that updating it for Kalos would not have been worth it.
I mean, why pay money if the dex's information can be found elsewhere very easily? Presumably any kids who may have wanted the app also had main series games, and at that point their parents would rather not pay another cent for an inferior application.
