I'd still like to go with the theory of Gen 7's evil team not being a take over the world God complex thing but rather just a big business trying to take over the Alola region for profit.
So honestly, the out of place floating building in the ocean would be pretty cool if it was their business hq / evil hq.

What the evil teams motive do you think for this game?
I suspect its going to be some environmentalist terrorist who use fairy types and are against industrialization and modern human living. And wants to wipe humans off of earth (like flare did) but for the reason that we are harming earth and are better off dead then trying to help it.

I think the artificial island is the League, Victory Road being a tournament style thing inside the large building in front, the castle being home to the Elite Four/Champion. Leagues have always been in extravagant looking buildings, and I don't know about you but that thing looks pretty damn extravagant.

Considering the region is based around Hawaii I feel like the plot could revolve around a prophecy, maybe one that the evil team is trying to make come to fruition. The protagonist, antagonist, and maybe even Lillie being a part of the prophecy. Hell maybe Lillie could be a sacrifice of some sort to Solgaleo or Lunala.

Yeah, a single Pokemon center on the outskirts of the island. Look at the rest of island, and now compare it to the others.
It has ruins, and looks devoid of human habitation, save for that single Pokemon center and save for that single, ominous, mysterious white building.
I don't think it's the place where he legendaries are, as that would be too easy. It's Gamefreak, if you've played enough of their games, you know the evil team is going to be there in some form or fashion.

I believe the first one, the artificial island is owned by Lillie's family. Lillie strikes me as this rich girl that grew up in a mansion just like the one in the first pic. They might actually be the evil team, and sent Lillie to spy on Kukui and earn his trust.
