There was an orphan boy who had an active imagination but was always bullied growing up. On the day he was supposed to get his first pokemon he we beat up by his rival and his friends and arrived late. The last remaining pokemon was a Tyrogue that nobody wanted. Through their adventures they became best friends. Tyrogue was happy to battle but the boy never forced him and never focused on battling. Tyrogue adapted using a kendo stick and shield and wearing clothes like the boy. They went on adventures and made more friends and when he grew up he decided to volunteer at his orphanage with his new pokemon friends.
