Anyone else convinced SM are going to suck? Not baiting or trolling. Region is small as fuck, tons of national pokemon, the gen before it was shit, modern gamefreak has proven it's just completely incompetent and untrustworthy. My expectations are very low.

not only does the game look small, it's flawed in the fact it's not connected. There's no way to travel from one island to another without using a boat, meaning there's no feel of cohesiveness like in the earlier games. It looks like it was designed like Skyward Sword.

Gen 6 was basically a software and engine test. It now has nowhere to go but up.

Game Freak is part of Nintendo. Nintendo is playing a longer, more subtle game than anyone else. Only Nintendo would make such ridiculously good models that they bog their own game down to be in a comfortable position in another decade. Incompetance is not part of their retinue, outside of internet connectivity.

If the exact same number of locations were on a single large landmass instead of four, and zoomed in on, Alola would look no smaller than the other regions, and by the way, Unova's regional basis is less than one one-hundredth the size of Alola's regional basis.
