What if Solgaleo is weak to the fire type on purpose and Lunala is weak to the dark type on purpose? The description for Solgaleo is “the beast that devours the sun” and Luanda's states "With its wings spread to absorb the surrounding light..." Solgaleo may consume the sun to reduce fire type effects while Lunala calls the moon to bring light in order to lessen the effects of the dark type? What if Solgaleo is an antagonist to the sun while Lunala aids the moon? I think it would be an interesting concept to have two legendaries with opposite motives.
It's an interesting thought, but any reduction of type effects would very likely have to be done through abilities, and we already know their abilities.
Lunala not Luanda*
If this is the case, I'm calling that the third member of the trio is Fire/Dark, in order to balance them out
Dark is more about Evil than literal darkness.

Darkrai Pokedex entry:
>To protect itself, it afflicts those around it with nightmares. However, it means no harm.
So Lunala is basically Alola's Cresselia.
