One could say the reason for no new Eevelution in Unova, is because every evolutions typing was special before physical/special split, and all types of that list was already used by the time Gen5 became relevant. Sylveon is an odd example because it's the only type that came after the split.

Great concept and cool designs, they just need another round through the drawing board to cut down on unnecessary details.
