So I was in work yesterday and we sell TCG decks and booster packs. You can imagine the type of people who come in.
Well this 'girl' comes in. She's 5'10, about 16 stone. Lank, dark hair. Baggy jeans, checkered Vans with no socks on. Clearly something wrong with her.
She corrals my manager and starts listing the plushies and figurines she has (300+) and where she had them imported from, then offers to write a list of everything she has so we can put them in the window for a display.
She was talking for at least 30 minutes. The smell of her was indescribable, inhumane. I felt like I was being tortured and I can't imagine what my boss felt.
What is it about Pokemon that attracts these mongoloids? If you're on here, which I'm 100% certain you are, just kill yourself.

In that case, it's just those weeeeeeeird cases, probably a friend-less kid who grew up with too much money and literally no friends (or any social life whatsoever). I don't know exactly how Ireland works socially, but while bullying can fix some stuff, Pokemon addiction is not one of 'em.
If someone is ostracized too much, and has pokemon to fall back on, then you end up with someone with literally nothing else to do except think too much about Pokemon. Pokemon has a metric fuckton of blanks to fill in. We call it autism which is fitting, if I'm not mistaken, as the basic structure was in fact designed by one; it's the perfect trap.
It isn't that unusual to think that you might know something about a product sold where you work. Remember, these people have had limited social interaction. Some of them legitimately believe that you, knowing anything at all about the topic, would like to hear more about it as much as they would like to tell you. I mean, you found your way to /vp/, so you have to have a bit of Pokemania in you, right?
Now, the part where my BS detector starts going BING is that she is trying to offload her shit at your store. Maybe it is some sort of hobby shop that buys and sells people's collectibles and is perfectly normal, but unless that is a thing your store does, you might just be dealing with a real weirdo.

I'm pretty sure she's harmless and just wants to show off her shit in our window, and that's fine and all, if a bit weird. But the lack of social understanding, the absolutely amazing lack of personal hygiene and her intensity were all really off putting. I was genuinely curious as to how something like that happens to someone.
And like I said, I will engage anyone normal about whatever else we sell in the shop. We are a hobby store so we get model train guys, drone guys, collectible toy cars, all that shit. I'll talk away about any of it.
But Pokémon has absolutely the weirdest people. I always assumed /VP/ was full of mostly normals, but it seems I was mistaken.
And just to the bullying point- We're pretty good natured with it. I've personally only ever heard of serious, life ruining shit in other towns and countries. When I was a shy nerd the bullying helped me learn how to speak to normals and understand that sometimes it literally is banter, much as I hate that word.
