It isn't about literal fire. It's about heat. The sun gives off heat radiation and is the entire reason our planet is nice and warm and not below the temperature of what Pluto currently is. And with heat you can ignite things. So fire would have fit much better than fucking steel when the Sun has no outstanding features that have to do with metal. And, to be honest, I founf the unnecessary psychic typing more offensive than steel since OP's pic can't even explain that shit. Maybe gravity is psychic force now if we want to stretch it that far?

Okay, Solgaleo's typing makes sense now. But let's be honest here, flash fire should have been it's ability than a clear body clone. And Sunsteel strike should be dual typed as steel and fire.

And many Pokemon related to space or based on extraterrestrial/alternate reality concepts are Psychic-type: Staryu, Starmie, Lunatone, Solrock, Deoxys, Cresselia, Elgyem, Beheeyem.
Cosmic Power is Psychic type, for added proof of Psychic sometimes being used as the "space" type.
