I'm going by mass only because that's the only way to compare since Sun can't attack lions, and vice-versa.
So Sun wins just because it'll outlasts the lions. Unless they can live at any temperature (hot or cold) without breathing, they can win if their lifespan exceeds the Sun's which is estimated at 8 or 9 billions years left. Good luck.

Because sunlight is warm and dry. In Pokémon almost every move tied to light is steel or fairy type. And the Sun is not made of fire, it's only a coincidence that our sun is almost the same color of fire.
