Stop this. The moon has absolutely nothing to do with Dark as a type and I don't know why people keep spouting this idiotic idea.
From Gen I, the moon has been associated with the Normal type. Look at what Pokemon require a Moon stone to evolve. Even when the Dark type was introduced in Gen II, this didn't change. Heck, they introduced Moonlight in Gen II and it was a Normal type move then. Umbreon is the only possible link between Dark and the moon (seeing as it learned moonlight), but its evolution is only tied to night time and not the moon specifically.
Gen VI swapped out Normal's association with the moon and changed it to Fairy. All the moon Pokemon like Clefable were changed to Fairy, Moonlight was changed to Fairy, and Moonblast was introduced as a Fairy type move. All this time later and we still have no Dark types that evolve with a moon stone.
I don't know why the fuck the moon Pokemon is Psychic/Ghost instead of some Fairy variant, but it probably has to do with Psychic being associated with space for some reason.
If you've been paying the slightest bit of attention, however, you should know that Dark was never in the cards.
