Never realized how Leafeon is harder to explain than Vaporeon.

>how the fuck does Leafeon's body even work
It's a monster
>>
>>26545839
I don't understand the question.
>>
>>26546040
That's camouflage, Leafeon is literally a plant.
>>
>>26546040
This. It has a flat leafy tail and its ears are just ears textured somewhat like leaves and it has some plant-like biology e.g. Chlorophyll.

>>26546055
And?

Leafeon is a monster.
>>
>>26546055
Chlorophyll from the moss on the Mossy Rock enters Eevee's cells, causing it to evolve.
>>
>>26546069
Now i want to know how Skiddo works too.
>>26546075
That's just how it evolves, not how it's body works.
>>
>>26546069

Skiddo has plants growing from it.

Leafeon is literally a plant.
>>
>>26546094
>>26546101
Oh, okay, I understand the question.

http://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/animals/stories/salamander-is-worlds-first-photosynthetic-vertebrate

"Even more interesting, Kerney also discovered that algae is present in the oviducts of adult female spotted salamanders, where the embryos form in their sacs. This means that it's possible symbiotic algae are passed from mother to offspring during reproduction."
>>
>>26546094
Clearly it has some plant-like traits that allow it to get energy from the chlorophyll. It's not that complicated. Also, it's Pokemon. You're asking about Leafeon but not Bulbasaur, an organism consisting of a parasitic plant on a frog.
>>
>>26546119
But it's not a parasite, it's a mutualistic relationship where both the frog(?) and the plant benefit from each other.
>>
>>26546140
Parasect was completely taken over by a cordyceps-type fungus, though.
>>
>>26546298
Fungi are more closely related to animals than to plants
>>
It's a cartoon monster thing dude

It's fucking pokemon

How does anything work
>>
>>26546414
They're still separated by billions of years of evolution

"With cells similar to those of plants, it can perform photosynthesis.. ..When you see Leafeon asleep in a patch of sunshine, you'll know it is using photosynthesis to produce clean air."

Getting all 10th grade Biology up in here: Photosynthesis just means a plant takes carbon dioxide from the air, water, and sunlight, and converts all that into chemical energy, which it typically stores as sugar. In turn the plant disposes of unused oxygen as a waste product. That's clean air to us.

If humans had chlorophyll in their skin, the extra energy we would get from sunlight would be hardly noticeable. Animals, especially warmblooded animals, need much more energy than a stationary plant. We'll have to assume that the energy gain from photosynthesis is much greater in the Pokémon world, for it to be worth it.

It is possible that Leafeon's mammalian lungs inhale CO2 and pump out oxygen, rather than the usual way around. That would be cool but I doubt it's how it works, since Leafeon still needs to carry oxygen to its organs. It wouldn't necessarily have to eat all the time, though.
>>
>>26545839
It's an abstraction.
>>
>>26545951
>harder than vaporeon

it can turn into pure water and turn back into a pokemon. I cant even imagine how that would work.
>>
>>26546589
>It basically does not fight.

No wonder it's in PU.
Still in my top 10 favorites

You forget that most grass types seem to be carnivorous in nature, so the photosynthetic energy would be more for base energy requirement between kills.

Lets say rather then 3 weeks without food, it extends up to 4 weeks without food before starving.

But your theory of the leaves taking the role of lungs is very intriguing.
>>
So wait, are its tail and ears actual leaves, or is it just camouflage?

I'm pretty sure they're actually leaves. How the fuck can skin, fur, and bone turn into a giant leaf?
>>
>>26545839
It's salad which looks like a dog

Stop trying to be so dense. I'm curious as to how this blows your mind, yet all the other Pokemon with weird biological aspects don't.
