Diamonds are nowhere near as rare or valuable as they make it out to be, they're only treated as such because a single company owns all diamond mines in the world and purposefully bottlenecks the trade so they can charge a buttfuck of money for them, and also they upped the demand by having a massive advertisement campaign in the 50's
They literally have entire warehouses stuffed full of diamonds in Paris that they can release into the market if they need to
