Do Event Pokémon kill Pokémon games' Replay Value? Some Mario games, Zelda games, Kirby games, Super Metroid, GBA Metroids, and hell even PMD have replay value.
Doesn't kill it, but they do have a negative effect of course.
Celebi event in HGSS was especially bitter for me. Making your rival's backstory a AND bringing the antagonist of the last game back as a hidden boss event exclusive? Fucking GameFreak.
It killed any chance this thing being relevant.

No. Competitive players kill Pokémon and make Pokémon boring as hell.
They care nothing about Pokémon lore.
Pokémon is a role playing game.

Why didn't Zoroark become the next Lucario? They were clearly trying to make it happen. Was it just the event thing? That was really stupid.

Who knows. It could be a mix of things.
>pure dark compared to fighting/steel
>Illusion being somewhat unreliable since you can see team before hand
>Get a riolu egg in gen 4. Only way to get Zorua/Zoroark in BW1 is via events which means they're impossible to get now.
>Debatably not as aesthetically pleasing as Lucario
>Pet peeve shiny zoroark uses purple instead of shiny zorua nice blue.
You reminded me that there's no metroid past fusion. It makes me sad we haven't got any new metroid game (fed force doesnt count)
In the other hand, shiny kabuto :')

I don't know if you're referring to getting Zorua in BW or the series as a whole, but thry have become increasingly common in recent years.
