Don't understand why they couldn't have just had its stats equal with Carracosta's, and introduced an ability that kept the theme of Archen and Archeops' design but isn't complete unbalanced trash.

They didn't learn from what happened with Regigigas, nor have they tried to rectify such things. Nerfing overpowered stuff on the other hand, they just love it.

Ideally that would be true, but thats a difficult ask. The only "group" of Pokemon to really maintain similar levels of usability are box legends, and thats because their only job is to be incredibly strong. Fossils all have to be Rock and only get 495 BST to work with.

Just about any ability would be better for Regi than Slow Start, if you want to make it classic GF no effort tier, just give him Pressure and call it a day.
