I've lost the magic that made Pokemon fun to me. I've played through Oras and Xy once each but can't seem to play much more than that. I've even tried playing the other gens and I can't bring myself to do it

I got burned out on Pokemon for a long while but I suddenly feel the urge to do some nuzlocke runs, especially a wonderlocke on Y and maybe a mono Poison run through Blue. Just think up some challenges to force yourself to play through the games in a way you wouldn't normally. It might help you appreciate the games in a new way.
Nuzlockes are great. I'd Locke White, because it's easier, but not too easy.
Watch some of the anime or read the manga, see if it makes you feel like playing one of the games. Worked when I felt burnt out.
Move on and play other shit for a while
take a break for a few months
