The reason it has drill run is because its name in japanese name is onidrill and is the beak(which is shaped like a drill). People were suggesting to become part steel and expand on the drill aspect. And an unique drill boosting moves ability would fit it perfecty and make a steel based drill move while were at it too. But I don't see it become a ground type. Eh, it'd be ground type solely for gameplay reasons, it's not meant to live as its Mega form, it doesn't seem too stupid to me for it to gain a type that strengthen its moves. And sure, an Iron Fist/Strong Jaw/whatever clone to expand drilling moves would be fine, it'd boost its stabs.
