One of the things I love about Nuzlockes is that they make you use pokemon you wouldn't normally. I never knew what a Drapion was, and how powerful it could be before that.

Herdier and it's constant TAKE DOWN slaughtered them. I got lucky with Dewott, he was the only one to survive, but that left me with only two areas (that I could find) to get new party members (the shit forest and route 4).
Got a sandile on route 4, that got slaughtered in the while fucking grinding and a Cottonee in the forest. At that moment, I knew going on was probably a lost cause, but I gave the bug gym a go and lost to one of the pre-fights before the gym leader.
Point is, Lenora essentially crippled my run with her retarded dog.

Started some days ago a nuzlock run for Y, it's also the first time i'm playing that gen.
Two custom rules: Exp share off, and when a pokemon faints instead of releasing it I upload it in the Bank (can't use it on that game again, though).
It's being fun. I have a Braixen, Wartortle, Venipede, Pansage, Flabébé and a Dunsparce. Had a Pidgeotto too in my team but it fainted recklessly to those two Furfrou returning from the castle, RIP ;_;
I think I'll put either the Braixen or the Wartortle on the PC just as a safeguard in case i get wrecked somewhere along the way. Is this something you often do?

Well, might as well get this run done and dusted sometime before the new games come out. I started a White 2 challenge run a few months back and got about halfway through Victory Road when my Unfezant got crit (RIP). At the time, I just went fuck it and put the game down. But I might as well finish it up.
Here's what I have available to me. I can still catch something in Victory Road. My current squad are level 58-59.
You guys who told me White 2 was an easy run is nuts. I'm having more difficulty than Platinum thanks to these Rotation.Triple battles fucking me up. I've lost two monsters now thanks to this shit surprising me.

I'm currently doing a Nuzlocke of Y. It's way too easy even with added restrictions. No where near the level of difficulty of HGSS.
I'm draw fagging a comic about it still. Current party:
Bun Bun (Bunnelby) Docile and alert to sounds. Takes orders well, goes with the flow. Always perking his ears to investigate what's going on around him.
Skitters (Zigzagoon) Jolly with good perseverance. The heart and soul of the squad. No matter how tough things get, he encourages everyone to push on.
Peanut (Quilladin) Modset and takes plenty of siestas. He is a powerful warrior but would never admit it himself. Kind of shy. He loves napping after a hard won battle.
Buttters (Butterfree) Bold and capable of taking hits. She is very physically unassuming with a personality to clash. Quite the opposite of Peanut. She never hesitates to throw down.
Flabby (Flabebe) Mild and quick tempered.
She is Tsundere towards Peanut. She trys to act aloof but she wears her hear on her sleeve. Always calling Peanut a "baka" when he does something reckless that causes him injury.
Brisket (Charmander) Impish and likes to thrash about. The trouble maker of the group. Very mischievous and often throws full on tantrums when things don't go his way.

Doing a Platinum run. Rate my team so far. I have a Buneary and Staravia named Pico and Kars chilling in the PC as I train Hellsing and Cessario. I just reached Veilstone. I plan on alternating the pokemon I use rather than using a main 6 so I can get to know more of them. I also forgot to nickname my Bronzor, Liberty.

The most off putting member of the team. Always giving others the bedroom eyes and making very suggestive gestures towards them. He perked up quite a bit when we first arrived at the daycare.

I lost my furfrou to a doubles battle. A short time after I accidently pressed on the power button which brings up the option to power off or return to home screen. So I have raised tyrantum to be a pretty big threat, the only thing I see killing him would be one opponent's Haxorus. So I'll just send my tyrantum against the other player. My venusaur has previously won a player match and thus had gained the ability to hold an item. So he has the potential to mega-evolve. At that point.... I think the opponent's delphox is the only real threat and I have sleep powder...

What counts as a new route for platinum? With all those routes split up in two by Mt. Coronet, and Mt. Coronet itself having north and south halves, it's getting confusing. Right now I'm defining it as "anywhere where the wild pokemon you can catch change" but I don't know if that's such a good idea.
Sup nuzgen. I've never done a nuzlocke run before, but I think it's finally time. I have a copy of Sapphire that I haven't played in a long time so I think I'm going to nuzlocke that one. In terms of difficulty, is Gen III a good place to start? Also, are there any other mandatory rules besides:

Well, I'm going to use the rule that I have on all of my playthroughs, which is no healing items whatsoever during Gym or Pokemon League battles. I don't think I need any other increases in difficulty.

How? I'm currently replaying Black and I've been overleveled in the last two Gyms (Elesa and Clay). The game just gives you a ridiculous amount of xp compared to the low level differences between Gym Leaders. I've actually had to AVOID trainers battles to prevent my Mons from reaching a level higher than the ace Mons of the leaders, and I remember having similar issues on my previous playthroughs too. What exactly makes Gen V so difficult?

One bad battle pretty much ending the game, but you're left with 1 or 2 solvent pokemon left. You know the Nuzlocke is pretty much over, but you have to keep going for the survivors.

The original nuzlocke would go out of his way to battle and kill all legendaries. Although he got a victini in his latest run since it was technically the first thing on the route, and he's been curbstomping every gym since, but most people don't talk about his BW run.
Platinum is definitely the hardest, mainly because the gyms have a steep level curve and almost all galactic boss battles are notorious for killing mons. I'm doing platinum right now and it's a wild ride. Jhoto is considered the easiest unless you play after lance. Emerald and frlg are arguably the easiest after that, partly because they're actually easy and partly because most players are more familiar with them.

So I started my first ever Nuzlocke today. I always thought it was a stupid concept, but holy shit I was wrong. I'm doing it on Alpha Sapphire, haven't played the remakes yet, and remembered I played the shit out of my Pokemon Sapphire when I was younger.
So it's my first run through my first playthrough of AS.Also, I'm really digging the game so far. It's really fun and charming. I don't know why people hate it so much.
