I don't think the collar thing is necessarily bones. Sure, it could be but I'm leaning more towards tufts of fur like pic related. Regardless, I think it's more likely based on a Poi dog than a shiba. Though, I like the idea of a normal/ghost or normal/dark pokemon available in the early routes.
If the sort-of reveal in the coro coro trailer was to subtly drop a hint at their next pokemon mascot then I think we'll know by June 2nd for sure.
