If you also get the FRLG box, just know that the translator is a fucking retard and he added in lines to make Blue (the guy) to be more accepting of Green (the girl) when his original lines in the Japanese/ Chuang Yi English is kept intact of him still hating her.Also they altered a key moment when Red breaks down after being soloed by Deoxys.
Red and Green (the girl) have this emotional chat, but the translator made it out as if Red did all the stupid things because he was brave and just learned the ultimate technique just cause, rather than doing it for HER sake.
It's like the translators are trying to shoehorn Blue and Green as a couple when officially and as of ORAS, Red and Green have a higher chance. I mean in ORAS, they have practically mega stone wedding rings.

Only gets full-wtf on FRLG, but past that, the translation seems to be like 90% in line with Chuang Yi's original translation, which is a good thing.I mean they have Gold smack Green's ass and changed it so it's "accidental" than on purpose

They'r'e around 60s-70s. They get weaker by plot convenience. Yellow's original Pokemon during her spotlight arc were all in the 50s-60s, but by the time of FRLG, they got nerfed to allow Johto scrubs and Hoenn nerds to level the playing field.

Since Pokemon Special is a monthly series in Japan, currently running parts are initially cut up into mini-volumes so that they don't have to wait half a year between new issues. Once the part finishes, they go back and re-release the entire series in proper 200 page volumes, like Japan gets.
In Japan, the like 5 or so chapters of HGSS and the first 4 chapters of BW were in the same book. Viz decided that was confusing and just made the last volume of HGSS longer and the first volume of BW shorter. As a result, the re-released version of volume 1 (left) ended up the same length as the original mini-issue (right).
