I'm playing Soul Silver. My current team is
Voltorb (LVL.24)
Ability: Static
Moves: Spark, Rollout, Screech, Light Screen
Quilava (LVL.25)
Ability: Blaze
Moves: Tackle, Leer, Cut, Ember
Heracross (LVL.28)
Ability: Guts
Moves: Brick Break, Shadow Claw, Horn Attack, Focus Punch
Staryu (LVL.26)
Ability: Illuminate
Moves: Water Gun, Rapid Spin, Recover, Surf
Arbok (LVL.27)
Ability: Intimidate
Moves: Thief, Acid, Poison Sting, Crunch
Fearow (LVL.27)
Ability: Keen Eye
Moves: Peck, Pursuit, Aerial Ace, Fly

I'll offer some advice:
If you are a straggler for type disadvantages, then three of your Pokemon are weak to Ground. I am fairly certain all three don't learn any positive moves that help them deal with the type, and only Staryu will help you. That being said, Arbok isn't that great of a pokemon, and the Poison type in general isn't too great, especially since this is pre-Gen 6. I'd suggest swapping out Fearow for something more powerful as well, as it's stats aren't too good and it doesn't have anything to deal with Rock/Steel types. You should definitely invest in better moves for your squad. Quilava should have learned Flame Wheel by now I am fairly certain, but definitely get it some higher powered moves. Try and evolve Staryu when you can, and it's better to not have redundant moves either (why have Water Gun when you would definitely use Surf? etc.)
Heracross is good, just make sure it gets bug moves. Having Poison/Bug/Fire on the same team is relatively redundant as well since they all are super effective against similar types.
General advice:
- Look up what types your pokemon are strong against & weak against
- See which Pokemon are the weakest and look at ways to improve (evolution, a better team member, moves etc.)
- Get more diverse move sets, definitely

I have an advice for all of you:
Git gud faggets.
Playing a romhack of ORAS, im fighting the rich guy before you enter lilycove. Revives/potions cost 20k+, im going near insane, may wiped me so many times already.
Im a competent player, but tate and liza will have lvl 90+ pokes and griding wont help no more by then.
All my pokes are ev trained and have competitive movesets, but damn, i need some more walls, what do u recommend /b/

DAMN. Where'd you get this romhack? And how are you playing it on your 3ds?
I just started Platinum a few hours ago, was soft reseting for a decent nature Turtwig. I got a female + brave with decent IVs.
Any suggestions on Water and Flying types?
No Crobat, Staraptor, Gyrados, Golduck, Milotic, Floatzel as I've used those before.
