Let's have a spooky pokemon thread! What are your favorite spooky pokedex entries, spooky routes and areas, and general unsettling experiences had within the pokemon universe?

I always thought the ghosts of Old Chateau were a nice and eerie touch.
B2/W2 always creeped me out with the Strange House.
Sorry, I don't have any pics.
>In the dark dream...
>I heard my dad’s voice...
>Forget about the Lunar Wing...
>Please stay here with me...
Bumping with unsettling pokedex entries
>It happened one morning - a boy with extrasensory powers awoke in bed transformed into Kadabra
>It remembers every dream it eats. It rarely eats the dreams of adults because children's are much tastier
>The spirits it absorbs fuel its baleful fire. It hangs around hospitals waiting for people to pass on (Lampent)
>Each of them carries a mask that used to be its face when it was human. Sometimes they look at it and cry (Yamask)
>Although Gorebyss is the very picture of elegance and beauty while swimming, it is also cruel. When it spots prey, this Pokémon inserts its thin mouth into the prey's body and drains the prey of its body fluids
>It is whispered that any child who mistakes Drifloon for a balloon and holds on to it could wind up missing
>If a traveler is going through a desert in the thick of night, Cacturne will follow in a ragtag group. The Pokémon are biding their time, waiting for the traveler to tire and become incapable of moving
>It hides in the dark, planning to take the life of the next living thing that wanders close by (Haunter)
>An abandoned plush doll became this Pokémon. They are said to live in garbage dumps and wander about in search of the children that threw them away (Banette)
>Dusclops's body is completely hollow - there is nothing at all inside. It is said that its body is like a black hole. This Pokémon will absorb anything into its body, but nothing will ever come back out
>If anyone dares to grab its hilt, it wraps a blue cloth around that person's arm and drains that person's life energy completely (Honedge)
>According to old tales, these Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died while lost in the forest (Phantump)
>It enwraps its prey in its hair like arms. It sings joyfully as it observes the suffering of its prey (Gourgeist)
>When its life comes to an end, it absorbs the life energy of every living thing and turns into a cocoon once more (Yveltal)

This just kinda felt like a place full of lame halloween decorations rather than an actually spooky area, especially with how the Haunted House turns out.
>>26454572
Pokemon being real would be scary as fuck. Aside from wild pokemon that could easily overpower a human, there's ghost pokemon that could be fucking anywhere and just fuck you up.
>>26454624
I thought that the fact that it was just beyond a playground was super creepy. They should have had phantumps in the grass, to imply dead lost children though.
Fuck Dark types ruining my Psychic/Ghost team.
>>26454712
If you can get a Sableye with prankster, then dark types can suck it.
>>26454678
That also kinda gives it more of a fake, halloween vibe, though. It's just some silly cartoon gravestones with a house where some guy tells you a spooky story. It's easily the worst "spooky" area of any Pokemon game.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2BNK0u9v-8The spookiest thing is his speaking voice
>>26454650
imagine you are masturbating in your room with lights off fapping to pokeporn, then you look at your side for a second and saw a gengar smiling at you.
that would be the most creepiest thing EVUH
>Hahaha, I guess not. That white hand on your shoulder is not real.
>>26455022
Jesus christ.. This is the first time I noticed that.

Somebody in GameFreak really likes giving kids nightmares.
The abra girl, which also returns at the Strangers house
It's getting spooky in here.

Body powder that you can spray?!?!
>>26455482SHH no telling
I love ghost pokemon just because they are so weird and it's never really explained where they come from. Also, the concept of the distortion world and Giratina watching our world from within it gives me the heebie jeebies.
>be me
>be playing my first Pokemon game, Pokemon Pearl
>I'm like 10 or 11
>walk into Old Chateau
>hear music
>instantly get spooked
>I leave after about 15-20 seconds, shit's too scary
>decide I still want to explore
>mute volume
>go back in
>still kinda scared
>I find pic related
>walk into TV room
>"The TV has an oddly malevolent feel... It's as if it is staring..."
>I get even more scared
>walk into middle room
>notice picture on wall is looking at me with glowing, red eyes
>get a lot more scared
>walk into picture room
>it's looking at me
>I'm horrified
>walk up to picture
>eyes stop glowing
>even more horrified
>leave room
>walk into the room to the right
>eyes are looking at me
>I start thinking "this is kinda cool"
>walk back to picture room
>there's a little girl in the room to the right
>she's looking my direction
>I literally gasp
>she turns, leaves the room without walking
>I'm paralyzed by fear
>close my DS
>pop the game out
>start crying
>mfw Pokemon Pearl made me cry
>mfw I avoided the Old Chateau for two years after that
>mfw Pokemon has made me more scared than any other horror game
>>26455689
>mfw Pokemon has made me more scared than any other horror game
It's always the one you least expect. I'm just glad that the worst I had when growing up was Lavender Town before all the creepypasta. I think the Old Chateau would have really scared me as a kid.Don't get me started on the Strange House...
>>26455518
NO, TELL EVERYONE
>>26454624
I feel like they missed a chance to have npc's with their faces obscured walking through the marsh after the haunted house event. It's a damn shame

>If a traveler is going through a desert in the thick of night, Cacturne will follow in a ragtag group. The Pokémon are biding their time, waiting for the traveler to tire and become incapable of moving
That one honestly creeps me out more than most. Just imagine a gang of these fuckers just creeping after you, and you know they'd be laughing at you. And what do they do when they get you? Do they just start bludgeoning you to death? It'd be like being beaten to death with a medieval mace with all those thorns.
>>26456221
Oh, you know what happens when they catch upHot cactus dick.
i always found the scolipede pokedex entries kinda creepy on how in all versions downrigh sadistic a scolipede can be

This area freaked me out when I stumbled upon it. The route to it appears out of nowhere, the fog is super eerie, and it's literally called Turnback cave. I felt like I had stumbled into a creepypasta
Who is the best ghost pokemon?
>>26454816
I thought the spooky house was sort of a joke about non-scary creepypastas.
Hug your Chandelure for warmth as the cold wind blows.
You look into his flames and feel a gentle pull at somewhere deep within you, a gentle gravity drawing you deeply into the warmth and light provided by your loving Pokémon.
But you're absolutely safe. The companionship between you and your Pokémon runs deep, the trust, something that without you even thinking of it, assures you instinctively that though your Chandelure could so easily destroy you, that he will instead leave you whole, treasuring you, keeping you warm and comforted until the snowstorm subsides.
lavender town is the most scariest place ever

When was this song used?
the old chateau had a great atmosphere. as far as spooky places in the games go nothing topped it, i feel
>>26460129
>litwick looks adorable to make it easier for it to trick people into following it and slowly leeching away all their life force
Shifty little cute candle.
>>26460815
When it all ended.
>>26456221
I think they just watch travelers die, sorta like vultures. And, like vultures, they eat those who die. The BW dex entry states "It becomes active at night, seeking prey that is exhausted from the day's desert heat." It's weird, the idea of Pokemon consuming humans.
>>26462673
With half of the ghost pokemon effectively trying to consume your spirit already I don't really see why ones that belong to a type that is literally called evil in japan wouldn't actually hunt and eat humans if the situation arises.
Misdreavus a cute.
Spookbump

>It happened one morning - a boy with extrasensory powers awoke in bed transformed into a Kadabra
This isn't unsettling, it's just a reference to Kafka
>>26465564
so, what you're saying is kadabras areturks?
"If its veil-like arms stun and wrap a foe, that foe will be dragged miles below the surface, never to return. "

Why did Frillish have to become Mr. Pringles?

Cutest.
Chandelure literally burns your soul away.
Das bad.
Why can't my bro get any good ghost moves ;-;

>Playing White blind
>find a Yamask
>"holy fuck that thing is cute, I need it"
>never really used a ghost type before
>mfw that was the first time I found out ghost beats ghost
>mfw I've been playing since gen 1
Also, just hatched a shiny Pumpkaboo not to long ago and sniped a shiny Litwick off the GTS not too long after.
