What went wrong?
That I can think of, nothing. I liked it. What do you think went wrong, anon?
>>26453703
Get outta here.
>>26453733
That's a shitposter, anon. Just filter the trip.
Not having Arceus playable. Whenever a spin off is announced right before the final Event Mon is announced my Autism is triggered so bad.
>>26453703
Nintendo literally said "we want the Mother 3/Heavy Rain/Final Fantasy VI audience" with this game. Pffffft, pathetic.
>>26453703
Absolutely nothing.
>>26453703
It's too good.
Came after Time/Darkness.
>>26453703
It's basically a worse Rescue Team, but this time with a furfag plot
It was too good that it made going back to T/D a chore
>>26456365
PMD in general is the most furfag side of the fanbase
>>26453703
Gameplay's ridiculously grindy in the post game
Story isn't nearly as good as people make it out to be aside from the Igglybuff and Grovyle episodes
Is not Red/Blue rescue team. Just sayin

what
>>26456448
This, to an extent. After playing it, I thought the plot's pretty good but only for Pokemon standards. A lot of the dialogue outside of the special episodes came off as forced, and it really seemed like they wanted to make the characters jokes firsthand before making them actual characters with motives. The partner gets hit pretty bad with this, since much of their development felt stiff and awkward, as if they magically became a better person just by being with the player (it gets a bit ridiculous at the Waterfall Cave scene) rather than naturally progressing into a braver person. The special episodes redeemed most of the characters, though, since it seems like the characters actually have a drive or personality which they were lacking in the main story.
Didn't feel like the postgame was especially grindy.

"Help, I'm scared!"
"..."
"I feel better now."
The partner in Super was even more awkward for this. At least you could say in Explorers that the partner simply got used to being in dangerous situations, but Super's doesn't even have that, and it really felt like the plot was just morphing itself at every corner to make the partner look good after they left Serene Village. The player character in Super, however, might be the worst player character in the pokemon franchise, if not games period. The whole conduit for the partner's development doesn't hold much water for reasons already stated, and not only that, he/she does pretty much nothing and could have been written out entirely, and when it's the character who gets the most screen time, that's a massive problem.
Thinking back to the special episodes, I really wish Bidoof was the partner instead. Someone who tries and fails is a lot more endearing to me than someone who was wanting to explore the unknown while not even having the guts to sign up. Makes me think 'get a new career mate' instead of 'I want to help you'I actually thought Gates had the best story of the bunch. Partner's development was minimal, but it at least worked, and had motivations aside from being an explorer. Side cast was by far the best too.
The grindiness and IQ system made me not want to use anyone but me and the partner, since fuck taking pokemon in who walk on visible traps. It made things get repetitive faster and wore out my interest quicker.
the tight belt is too fucking rare
>>26453703
leveling pokemon its a pain in the ass
A focus on plot/characters but with the dialouge meant for a toddler.
Removed shit like evolving after main game for no reason
Drifloon's line was far stronger and better than any other pokemon.
>>26459016
>he thinks the main game ends at dialga
>>26459109
It does end at dialga, thats why the credits roll and it rehashes blue rescue teams ending
>>26459557
the story continues for another 10 hours worth of gameplay bruh
>he evolves his starters
hope that pitiful stat up you can just get from items was worth it
>>26453703
Nothing, anon, it's the strongest mystery dungeon entry to date.
>>26453703
The same issue every Mystery Dungeon has. You can't rotate your entire party until postgame, turning the main game into an escort mission.
The ending whereyou come back to life over a fucking wish
Let me just say what's wrong with the series, though. It limits the sense of choice. Throughout most of the games, you are given MANY options, but when you hit the other option, it goes "I can't do that, otherwise this will happen!" Before RETURNING TO THE SAME SET OF OPTIONS. It only allows the game to flow in one linear plot by THE ONLY CHOICE YOU COULD MAKE and not let you see what happens if you select the other. For a RPG that limits a player's choice, that's a bad feature. We should not have the thought where "oh if I do this then this will happen." No, that's bullshit thinking. We should at least SEE WITH OUR OWN EYES the consequences of our actions and not be fucking autistic hesitants.
>>26456431
Fite me in hell.
It has the most POKEfurfaggotry in general of the fanbase.
Don't compare this to that sick twisted shit known as furrys. Pokephiliacs have standards.
>>26453703
Super was betterAnd so was Gates
>>26453703
The fandom is too stupid to accept anything but the main series, that's what.
