Hi /vp/, I recently scored a 5iv female Eevee on wonder trade, and thought it'd be a good starting point to breed myself a 6iv Growlithe. Im fairly new to breading, but I understand that the female pokemon is what the egg will be, so I've been trying to breead a male Eevee with atleast 5iv's, but I've only been getting one or two perfect iv's despite using the destiny knot. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

The Eevee partner must have shitty IV's. The Destiny Knot take random 5 IV from both parents, if the male you're using has shit IV's, the offspring will likely inherit those shit IV's too. You should swap the Eevee partner withher own offspring

This, keep the /ss/ train going until you have a 5IV partner, then you just have to get lucky on the final randomized stat

Keep breeding it with the best I've poke you have that can breed with it, then use its offspring to breed with the parent until you get one. Make sure you get an everstone to preserve the nature if it's a good one

Don't worry about the 6th max IV usually pokemon don't need 6. Preferably you'd want the 6th randomized one to be either the attk or so attk the opposite of the one you want. As most pokemon won't use both
