Today I paid $70 for five cards from the first Pokemon TCG set. I'd say they're mostly NM.
They include Charizard, Alakazam, Chansey, Ninetales, and a 1st Ed. Machamp.

This deck is terribly built.
First off, cut the Rayquaza. Pad out the Slowking line to 2-2. Add 2 Shaymin EX. This deck relies on speed to work.
Bump Sycamore to 4. Cut Shauna and Tierno. Add a second N and a Delinquent.
Cut all of these

Hello fellow collector. Ninetales/Machamp aren't that rare because they were part of decks back then. Chansey/Zam go for good bucks depending on the rarity (shadowless/1st ed/etc) and obviously their condition. A Charizard in good condition ALWAYS go for big bucks (not saying hundreds or thousands, but at least 20, so the anon telling you you bought 25$ of cards is a dumbass).
If we use T&T's lowest prices for near-mint cards, you get a total of 75$ (6 Chansey, 3.80 Machamp, 53 Charizard, 2.80 Ninetales, 9,50 Alakazam).
There is a chance you could have found a Charizard for lower on eBay, but it would have still been for at least 40$.
Overall, you might have not done the best deal, but it's not like you got ripped off either. To top it off, you didn't have to pay for shipping and you were sure of their condition as you saw them up-close.
Those are some cool cards anon. I kinda blew my load too when I got back into collecting at first. Enjoy it man!

No, the Dive Ball only searches Toad and Octillery.
The problem is, you can search Toad with Hoopa which you can search with Ultra Ball. And if you dump two cards for Ultra Ball, you'll get two more cards with Octillery.
Never run Dive Ball over Ultra Ball unless you're playing Greninja.
