The thing about that is that there isn't any, or at least very little, work that needs to me done. Those Pokemon already have grounded animations, as shown with amie. Hopefully, SM will correct this by not using the flying animations when not battling in the air (assuming they bring Sky Battles back, that is).
I will say, though. For some Pokemon (most notably birds like Staraptor and Talonflame), it works.

Hopefully, it's not like they DON'T have the models, as you can plainly see them on an injected wondercard or Amie. They should only allow certain flying models, like Archeops or Yvetal, but keep the others grounded. If they really want to keep flying models, only allow them for flying battles (hanggliders or whatever the fuck they want to use).
