Except that's actually one of the patterns, every final evolution to a Grass starter is based on a specific animal from a prehistoric era, the eras going down the line to modern day. The weapon theory is just absolutely stupid and really has no basis, and the Zodiac theory while a little off isn't exactly 100% wrong either when 4-5 of them so far do match up.
