In my opinion, these games were great. Yeah, the caves and fucking cinnabar mansion were fucking impossible to navigate, but everything else was fun. The Sevii islands were an awesome addition that seemed to add an entire new dimension to the game. The graphics were good and mechanics were comfortable. The sheer ammount of legendaries was enjoyable as well.
As you can see, im new to /vp/. Dont get why people seem to dislike these games.

You cant trade eggs, but after getting the ruby and sapphire you can trade hoenn pokemonn which can be time capsuled from the older games. Its a hassle, but worth it.

My favorite thing about FRLG (compared to emerald at least) is the font. It's so compact and pleasing. I hate going back to emerald but I'm trying to get some pokemon to trade back.
Honestly, FRLG are probably not the best games but to me they are perfect.

Dear god I can actually remember the difference in font for the games. Why is this so odd to me? And holy shit you're right, Emerald's font was all loose and rubbed me the wrong way. The overall coloring of FRLG was rather comfortable compared to how flat all the sprites looked in RSE.
