Does the Digimon fandom ever look at newer Digimon designs and think "This shit looks like Pokémon!"?
bump because this question is actually interesting
ngl i didnt know digimon was still going on, but i wouldnt be surprised if they did
>>26397963
from my time looking around the series/fandom, not really. Honestly the only ones that get pokemon comparisons would be the baby digimon (those stages before rookies) and even then once they digivolve the comparison gets thrown out.
>>26397963
Not really. Digimon has a distinct enough style that it would only work the other way around.
That's why the only Pokemon that really look like Digimon are sunkern, sunflora and totodile
>>26398072
And even so, those three only look like digimon because they DO have counterpart digimon that look like them. If there were none, the comparison wouldn't be made.
Digimon fandom?

Exactly, this.
I dunno why hoopa-u gets so much shit. I don't even think he's over designed, he just looks like a crazy kaiju thing

>I don't even think he's over designed
Because it's a meaningless buzzword along the lines of "edgy" that at this point has probably been used in reference to at least half of existing Pokémon.
Look at its eyes. Now this is a Digimon.
The lower stages resemble Pokemon, but that's kind of the point. They start off more simple-minded and animalistic but become human-like as they evolve.

No because Digimon fans aren't autistic
>>26397963
like this?
I don't think any fanbase gets as butthurt about monster designs as the Pokemon fanbase does. Probably one of the most annoying things about it even after all these years.
>do digimon fans ever praise the sun?
No, they usually whine about how every important Digimon is either humanoid/a waifu/both

The designs for Xros Wars were pretty awful, and then there's >>26398467
We're usually too busy lamenting how there's nothing to play and worrying about whether the franchise will survive the next year, though.
Also because there are so many Digimon and each game only includes 200–300 out of something like 700–800, new Digimon don't have such an impact because people rather want to see old but underused Digimon they like get more exposure.
Let's ask >>>/vg/digi
Pokémon is more popular than Digimon, so most people who like Digimon probably like Pokémon as well. So no, they don't, because with it being less famous the fans are less retarded about it.
The only Pokémon that looks like a Digimon in my opinion is Whismur and it looks like a fresh/baby Digimon at that.
>>26398436
They've had a sun lion cover digimon since 06.
No because Digimon fans arent retarded as to think they're only allowed to like one franchise, and pretty much every Digimon fan likes Pokemon too.
Can't wait for Pokemon Sun!
