Calling it right now.
Rowlet evolves into an Owlbear
The theme is:
(Sea) Lions, Tigers, and (Owl) bears! Oh my!

>tfw Pathfinder had the best Owlbears
This is the best art of one ever. I use these in my Owlbear token in my D&D campaign.
But yeah, Rowlet evolving into a Grass/Ground Owlbear would be the greatest starter of all time, but do nips even give a shit about D&D?

>Owl Bears
Oh my.

There is some presidence of Japs using Owlbears. They were in DQ5 and FF12. There are others but they are a bit more obscure.
Still possible though.

It's a cool idea, but incredibly unlikely
It's gonna be an owl with a bear body, not a bear with an owl face!

Exactly, they've already revealed rowlet to be flying type, what's the chance they're gonna switch that out with fight or ground or something?
And before anyone says "they've done it before", yes, they have, but not to a starter
It could work to make all starters chimeras.
e.g. Sea Lion (he has the clown mane already), and could be part squid.
Tiger could easily become a manticore with its poison typing and tail chimeras breath fire)
Owl could be humanoid (Icarus/Ra), or animal e.g. Owlbear/griphon

There is actually a difference. Bear with owl face has fur all over with slight feathers on the face. Owl with bear body has feathers all over with fuzzier feathers on the body.

>manticore
Stop right the fuck there. Don't start this again.

Hmm, would certainly be interesting. It might cement him as my starter pick.
