>hundreds
It will be xy all over again.

so it'll have 450ish mons all crammed into a tiny island? How will that work?

Islands, not island retard.

This.
Hundreds of different pokémon wouldn't fill a island. Instead, just a scoop of the whole, jus like in most of the previous regions.
That's a choice both to make us buy renewed and updated versions of previous games and to suspend the players' belief, with 'pokémon's proper habitat according to their traits' and shit
MAGIC GRASS

The thing that totally doesn't work about that though is the fact that the original 151 are just in Kanto. Which is fine in and of itself. But then each new gen takes Pokemon from previous gens and puts them in the new region. So what you're telling me is that the Pokemon in Kanto can be found to some degree all over the world? Without any kind of variations between them?
This is why a game that could incorporate the entire map would be the best thing ever but unfortunately its never gonna happen. To have a realistic Pokemon experience would be amazing where you have to actually travel to different lands to find different mons instead of having most of them pretty much handed to you in one region. But the level aspect makes that almost impossible. Not to mention designing such a game would be tedious at best.

This is Gamefreak we're talking about here. They'd find a way.
It will have 50 new Pokemon spread over like 4 islands.
