And this is the story of how I came to 4chan.
I'm sure if I stayed in the thread, I would have been blown out unanimously, and probably back to my meming degeneracy where it was "less mean" . Coming to 4chan and realizing how foolish deviantartists and redditors were was probably the spark plug that initiated my climb up towards actually trying to be social and an acceptable person instead of trying to "embrace" my autism like so many lost souls have done nowadays. Deviantart was naturally the natural step on my delving into Aspiedom, and I'm certain I would have stayed there to this day had my love for memes not given me this site as a detour, funny enough.
I don't think there's a screencap to be found of Smugchief on /v/, but I'm sure it would have had a peanus weenus level of replies. I also have a notebook with at least a page of these Smugleafesque "witty" replies. I'm not sure where it is, but I would post it if I could find it.

I remember finding the thread while there was still relatively few posters, and I screen capped the thread as it progressed. I figured the first twenty or thirty or so reaction images we're enough to signify the message, but I'm pretty sure I remember the thread reaching the image limit and the bump limit.
The last two posts at the end of the second cap I found in the middle of the thread and deemed funny enough to put into the cap, explaining the timegap.
I never posted the screencap outside of that thread mostly because I forgot about it, but also because I forgot to save the actual picture of Smugchief, so no one would have really gotten the full effect, which is why I didn't bother to post it initially after the thread died. Therefore, it just ended up in my collection of throwaway /v/ screencaps.
When I saw this thread, I actually had recollections, and had to search through an old google drive folder which I hadn't touched in over four years.

To be fair you aren't alone in liking Spore when you were younger. I was in deep, deep denial about how shit it was when it first came out too.
I also used Spore as my sort of Deviantart. I had a million fucking Dragons made in the editor and a few were even pretty popular.
But the other shit is autism on a level I'm glady not familiar with.

I actually tried to do that. After about a year of experience on 4chan's /v/ and /vp/, I had adopted the "rage" attitude that /v/ passed down to me, and when I found a cringe thread about people reading their old posts, I had violent flashbacks and immediately checked my Spore just to recollect how bad it was.
Going through every individual creation of mine was equivalent to forcing me to watch Foam Adventure on repeat in my mind, each segment packed into a little portion of immaturity, autism, and societal ignorance. While I had my account, I actually changed my tagline from what it was before (I don't remember) to what is now, "what have I done", as an accurate summary of my feelings.
Because I didn't have the guts nor the coolheadedness to post is on /v/ (probably because people would definitely suspect me of being underage) I immediately contacted EA online and requested that they delete everything: my creations, my comments, my entire online identity in regards to Spore (I was still pretty uneducated in regard to the nature of the Internet as >>26401077 mentioned).
Do you want to know what EA did? They took away my ability to login. That's it. They prevented me from logging in with my email and password while leaving everything intact. Not only did I lose about 90% of the charm and gameplay, but all my juvenile creations, all my angsty and vain comments would remain up because EA took away my fucking ability to login to my account and delete them myself. It was as if EA consoled me into allowing me to leave their domain, and as soon as I turned my back, they chained me behind my back and unceremoniously booted me out while leaving my creations to sit in their museum, unharmed for eternity. I contacted them again and again but they gave me the same "sorry" response each time.
Long story short, this began in me a personally bitter hatred for EA that would only further with PvZ, Dungeon Keeper, gay pandering, and SimCity. Especially SimCity.

I have no idea what Spore is like as I never found it all that interesting, but if you could still enjoy it in some ways then I think you shouldn't let something dumb like this take it away. I was referring in terms of being allowed to download other people's creations and use them in your game, download adventures (I got the GA pack) and just making stuff yourself.
At that point, the gameplay had worn very thin for me. I should mention that I had stopped playing it for a year at that point, and I didn't want to bother to replay the game. It was more the nerve of them to destroy whatever progress I had made in the game (especially considering the DRM) that ticked me off than the actual act itself, plus not allowing me to delete the creations and etc.
You're right about me not caring at that point, but it was still an act that bitterly surprised me, considering the way that they interpreted it. Looking back on it rationally, I can kind of understand what they did. It just seemed more like a "fuck you" to me back then more than a misinterpretation. I was still only a teenager back then. Go figure I still had vestiges of autism and unreasonable angst in me.
