So, recently I've wanted to play Pokemon, but every game felt overdone. I've already played Y half a dozen times, and while I love OR I played R/S so many damn times it feels stale. So, I looked for a Pokemon clone that I could enjoy while I waited for Sun/Moon, and I found Crystal Monsters.
Honestly it's a pretty fun Pokemon clone that has everything Pokemon has, along with it's own style of things. Not only that, but it was cheap (Like $5 in the e-shop).
There are a bunch of monsters, battle is engaging, bosses and strong monsters LOOK like bosses and strong monsters, team building is simple, "breeding" (read: monster fusion) is easy.
It has plenty of downsides, like the item menu is awful to go through, the overworld is somehow both on and not on a grid, so walking and interacting feels stupid, level grinding is tedious, moves have no descriptions, and you can't save anywhere.
Has anyone else played it? Thoughts?
