Just don't really like the design. Waiting for the evolutions for the new starters before I chose but it's my least favorite out of the new ones. I'm mostly basing this on final forms so they aren't set in stone. Squirtle would be way higher if I was going by first or second forms.

for what its worth gen iv has the best third evolutions. infernape, empoleon, and torterra are all incredibly good designs.

I don't hate them I'm just comparing which ones I like better. I even like Chikorita it's just far from being my favorite. I just mean out of all the cool starters, why would you chose that one.
The only starters I hate are Chikorita and Chespin.

I never actually played through sinnoh with infernape. Chose Piplup the first time and every time since then it's been turtwig. I'd say it's a tie between gen 4 and 2 for hardest starter decision. Gen 5 was overall the worst.

it's not a matter of their typing. i'm rating purely on aesthetics. i genuinely think that snivy, froakie, and fennekin are the best looking starters from an aesthetics point of view. i probably should've clarified that's where the rating comes from in my original post.
i updated my list. it wasn't as indicative of my true taste as i would've liked it to be.

Blastoise doesn't do the line any justice.
These guys and thier first stages will always be my favorite but I dont think I really dislike any of the stage one starters.
They all look cute and like they have the potencial to become something cool. Shame a good bunch of them dont though.
