How so? Typhlosion is the volcano Pokemon Fire ground is reasonable for it and game freak could easily make feraligatr water fighting, I'm not saying it's good ideas but seems like something they would do

Seems super specific and random. I would say there is more of a chance that it's the typing of other pokemon they might announce. I still mainly think that it's for the starters.
