There are 6 HMs you fucking imbecile. Pokemon could only learn 4 moves. This has been the same since gen 1.

I haven't used a HM Slave in any single game, at least not when I could have a full six party. Just forfeit one move slot, it's not like Fly, Surf or Strength are that bad in game.

This. It's not like you will use them competitively, who the fuck cares. And even if that was the case, there's a move deleter and a move reminder you know. Getting Heart scale is easy as fuck and the whole process takes about 3 minutes

The only useless HM is Cut. Every other one has some level of use in battle either by having a decent BP or a decent secondary effect, especially considering it's in-game.

I just slap them on my actual party members these days because it's more practical than swapping in a Bidoof or some shit when I need to climb rocks. Plus I like actually having something resembling puzzles in dungeons with them or something to mix things up rather than fucking nothing.

I just have 1 or 2 free slots for HM slaves.

It's annoying yeah, but whatever. I think I beat AS with a Gardevoir and Blaziken alone, so there's that.

Pure Power and Huge Power now let Pokemon use Strength outside of battle whether or not they have learned it, if granted the ability to use it by a badge.

Swift Swim lets Pokemon use Surf and Waterfall.
Torrent lets Pokemon use Surf and Dive.
Gale Wings lets Pokemon use Fly.
Harvest and Hyper Cutter lets Pokemon use Cut.
Iron Fist and Sheer Force lets Pokemon use Rock Smash.
