I've been soft resetting for a month now for a shiny venipede. Would my chances be better just by running and re-encountering or just to continue to soft reset?

I found a shiny Whirlipede in W2 just after I got the shiny charm. I cheated the charm, but I have a full dex on my X version so it kind of isn't cheating? I don't know. It looks really nice, anyway.

Still haven't gotten a shiny venipede yet but i've gotten two shiny audino, and i've been trying for about a week off and on. The way i've been doing it is finding a shaking bush and saving right in front of it and just soft resetting.
