Dis gurl might be on par though. I love that she's just been a trainer for a really long time and isn't some amazing prodigy or anything. She is talented for sure, but unlike the MC and most Elite Four members, she just worked for probably 40 or 50 years to get where she is now.

Well, keeping in mind that "best" is entirely subjective in this context...
Siebold was my favorite pretty much instantly. I like his aesthetic, and even more than that the little speech he shares with you before his battle about cooking. It was hamfisted as hell, but there was a certain degree of truth to his comparison between cooking and battling (both of which are two things I really enjoy) and for me that made the character resonate with me more. Plus water types are awesome.
