After ORAS I promised myself I'd never buy a Pokemon game again but now that have a hacked 3DS I have no reason not to try the new games anymore.

I haven't bought a pokémon game since HG. I'll see if SM is worth it if not I just won't buy it.
ORAS was great to me, and while I felt XY was incredibly shit in some departments I still enjoyed what it did right and a lot of what it introduced mechanically. That's more than I can say for BW1, which had almost all the same flaws as XY and no notable polish or new features to entertain me, and I didn't drop the series after that.
