Note that among the first non-starter/legend pokemon revealed for gen 5 were Zoroark, Darmanitan, Klink, Blitzle, Sandile, Munna, and Pidove, only the last two were actually available before the first gym, and only the last three before the third
Gen 6 showed Pancham, Helioptile, Fletchling, Gogoat, and Sylveon among their first non-starter and legend reveals, and only Fletchling could be gotten before the first gym

Why would they be right in the middle then? You wouldn't put random Pokemon in between the starters... It isn't Bulbasaur, Rattata, Charmander. Wouldn't make sense. Also the icons where in order so these are likely the starter types

Yes, to the point the anime character that first told Ash about Kalos used one, iirc.
In other words, just because a pokemon is shown early, doesn't mean it'll be gotten early.
