From my understanding, this isn't true. The only thing the Pentagon Values are for is to determine a game of origin. X, Y, OmegaRuby, and AlphaSapphire take up four of them. There are two left, and the Pokemon caught in Sun and Moon are going to have to have a game of origin, too, therefore they likely will use the last two values, especially considering we'll be able to transfer Pokemon caught in Gen 7 back to Gen 6 (not new Pokemon, obviously, but older Pokemon, yes).

It's possible that the pentagon will be used for Gen 1 and a theoretical Gen 2 re-release, since once they're uploaded to Bank and converted to the current IV/EV system, there's nothing really stopping them from being transferred to XY.

I'm sure Game Freak will come up with a contrived reason why they can't go from Sun/Moon to Bank, and then from Bank to XY, but...
