Looks like a fighting games HP bar. Now I want to see other slight changes, like an animation of a Pokemon dodging an attack when an attack misses, rather than now how you just don't see an attack at all if it misses. Same as with when a Pokemon hit into a Protect or King's Shield, there should be an animation for that.

Being clean and thick is very much characteristic of current design trends.
The bar is mostly symmetrical, from top to bottom. The only asymmetrical part of the bar that's "bothersome" is the tip at the top-right. Though that shouldn't be a big deal because what's the point of caring about the HP at that point of the bar.

I dig it. UI changes, while small and have no bearing on the gameplay are just nice QoL changes every now and again.
